Translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the Brachial Assessment Tool for Brazilian Population

Objective: Present the translation and cultural adaptation of BrAT for Brazilian population. Methodology: This cross-cultural study involved ten steps proposed by International Society Pharmacoeconomics Outcomes Research (ISPOR): preparation, forward translation, reconciliation, back-translation, back-translation review, harmonization, cognitive debriefing – which comprised: a Delphi involving physiotherapists that should answer 7-item form, divided into 3 central axes: questionnaire content, structure adaptation; Pilot patients with BPI were questioned regarding their comprehension on each question version -, review debriefing, proofreading final report. Results: The process generated first Portuguese BrAT. On from five regions provided answers study, consensus ≥ 80% was achieved in all items, no amendments proposed. pilot twenty-one who showed full understanding translated did not suggest any changes. After instrument, (BrAT-Brasil) developed. Conclusion: BrAT-Brasil proved to be well adapted scenario It exhibited successful results stages recommended international guideline patient-reported outcome measures.
